Sulong CARHRIHL in cooperation with the Concerned Citiezens of Abra for Good Government (CCAGG) and the indigenous peoples organization TIPON held a CARHRIHL documentation and monitoring training in Mayabo, Tubo, Abra last June 10-12. Forty participants representing organizations of the youth, women, and elders and the ten barangays of Tubo attended the training.
The participants learned the importance and methods of monitoring the compliance of the two parties - the government and the National Democratic Front - to the CARHRIHL through workshops on interviewing, data gathering, and fact-sheet writing.
On the third day, a local monitoring team for Tubo was set up to document and follow up cases of CARHRIHL violations in the municipality, particularly in Tiempo and Tubtuba where military operations had occured recently. DR
